Critical Mistake # 1: You focus all of your attention and effort on SELLING your product or service
I see so many people tell me “Yes I have a blog” and I ask to see it.
It's a blog FULL of buy this and buy that…and NOTHING about THEM.
Your BLOG is what brands YOU, and who YOU are and what YOU are about.
HOW can I POSSIBLY get to know you if you blog about JUST a product or service?
My personal advice:
Get a blog JUST about YOU and the things you are passionate about AND have a blog for your products, but ALWAYS be branding YOU and who YOU are! Remember, people don't buy your products, they buy YOU through the know, like and trust factor!
Critical Mistake # 2:
Most marketers only have an introductory price and nothing further to offer their customer…..they “tried” your product….NOW WHAT???
Critical Mistake # 3:
I have seen many people market online and not even begin to know that in order to EFFECTIVELY market online they need to build a LIST.
I see new people not even know how important building a list is.
A list is a list of customers or potential customers to which you can email market to effectively and tell them of your new offers, sales, etc.
Online and offline businesses can actually benefit from building a mailing list with a tool called an autoresponder.
An autoresponder basically collects your clients' email and possibly name (if you design your form that way).
This “LIST” of names and emails you collect, you will now be able to send them coupons, special offers, or free training to provide VALUE to the marketplace.
One of the BIGGEST mistakes I see people make is they don't offer VALUE based email marketing. What I mean by this is that they, once again, REPEAT mistake #1 listed above and FOCUS all their energy on SELLING their PRODUCT and NOTHING about THEMSELVES.
My take on this is: “Those who provide VALUE to others will benefit MOST in the end”.
So, bottom line is….stop messing around, show up as a LEADER and not a follower of all the others out there making the SAME mistakes. It's OK to be different!
